Dr. Nkem was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She spent her early life growing up throughout West Africa before returning to the US to pursue her “ever-evolving” education and consult with industry leaders throughout the Eastern U.S. healthcare spectrum. In addition to being a prominent public speaker, she currently serves as a senior advisor to the CEO at Johns Hopkins Healthcare (Priority Partners) on board priorities; is a board member of Lasell Village and Black Women’s Health Imperative; and was appointed by the Maryland Secretary of Health to serve as a Maryland Health Care Commission Advisory Council member on Primary Care Transformation.
